Specifications Certificate Program

We are pleased to announce that Lawrence Technological University has launched a brand new, one-of-a-kind, specifications certificate program. With support from Specification Consultants in Independent Practice and its members, Lawrence Tech College of Architecture and Design is now offering a 3-course certificate program, delivered in a virtual format to anyone in AECO who would like a 360 understanding of specifications.
Program Overview

The Certificate in Architectural Specifications is a three-course program that provides a wholistic understanding of the content, production and implementation of written specifications in architectural practice. Coursework equips students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to produce clear, accurate, and coordinated specifications that manage requirements from architects, contractors, material suppliers, and clients.

The Certificate covers the specification process from design through occupancy, including contract documents, product and material research, quality and performance criteria, interior and exterior construction systems, and managing contractual relationships through construction administration.

The program is open to current Bachelor or Masters students in Architecture, Architectural Engineering or Construction Engineering Technology and Management at Lawrence Technological University, or as a stand-alone, professional development credential for those working in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industries who want to specialize in architectural specifications.
